How to inspect a house for rodent entry holes - It is a fact that rodents are incredibly skillful when it comes to entering our homes. They can climb across outside walls and chew on almost all materials used in construction of houses, so it is no wonder that you will have a lot of work if you suspect that you might have a rodent in your home. Rodents don't need lots of space for entry point-for example, rat will need less than 1 inch hole to enter house. With this in mind, it is evident that it is necessary to inspect about every inch of your house to make sure that there are no entry points, or if there are, to close them safely and prevent rodent entry. Make sure to check all vents: roof vents, gable vents, laundry vent and any other vent as all of them are viable entry points. Make sure to check all windows and doors, as every open window without screen is possible entry point.

Entire roof should be checked, especially where walls meet roof, such as fascia and eave line. Tile roof is especially vulnerable and excellent rodent entry point due to its shape. Pipes and installations are excellent entry points for rodents because there is already present opening that rodent just needs to chew on more to create entry point large enough. Rodents will successfully use every prepared hole in a wall to crawl through and enter house.

It is important to consider that you can be sure that rodents are near when you find piles of their feces and can smell urine. In this case inspect every inch of your home to locate rodents and then apply method of your choice to capture them and remove them from your home.

It is also important to know that lots of rodents are very good swimmers and divers, which means that they can entry house through sewers and plumbing and show up from the toilet. Basically, no point of entry is safe, even those you might not think of at first. Check toilets regularly as well!

It has been noted that rodents have entered home through a chimney and down the fireplace (fall of dozen feet will not kill them), which means that it is necessary to place a strong metal net on the chimney as well as to make sure that all chimney blocks are tight placed one to other.
